State Finals are the final progression of School Sport Victoria's inter-school competitions pathway.

SSV's competition pathway is as follows, 

In primary schools there are four (4) competition levels: District, Division, Region and State.

In secondary school, there are three (3) competition levels: Division, Region and State.

Important information for SSV Region finals winners. For all your state finals information, please go directly to the relevant sport and the event in the Event Calendar within this page of the SSV website for all the state venue details, dates and times, rules and draws. NB. Draws are updated on a regular basis as region winners are communicated to the SSV office by Region Coordinators. 

Please remember to fully complete your team sheet and submit it to the convenor on the day on your arrival.

If you are after information about the Team Vic program that School Victoria enters state teams into the School Sport Australia championships go to the Team Vic section of this website. Team Vic is organised by the School Sport Victoria's National Programs team (not by the State Championships Officer). ​​

For schools who are travelling more than 100kms to a SSV state quarter-final/semi-final/final/Premier League game, please be aware of the SSV Travel Subsidy policy available on application. 

Sports Tape MUST be supplied by the student/competing team. Strapping for injury prevention as required MUST be performed by the student/competing team. NB. The First Aid Responder attending the state finals are NOT permitted to perform strapping.

Spirit of Sport Award109{8ba673e6-5df2-4c0c-bf92-30ef694098d0}Spirit of Sport Award8/05/2025 11:13:57 PM<div class="ExternalClass040266E797CD46269BCB24F9DBADACE3"><p>​A '<a href="https://www.ssv.vic.edu.au/state/Documents/SSVSpiritofSportAward.pdf" target="_blank">Spirit of Sport</a>' bannerette is to be awarded to the school that best exemplifies positive values at each SSV State Final in 2025.  </p><p>These awards are to be determined by the event convenor on the day.</p><p>Captains of teams competing are encouraged to suggest schools who are to be considered for the award.  Schools can submit nominations to the event convenor on the day of event.</p><p>Criteria to be used for determining award winners can include any of the following:<br></p><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><ul style="list-style-type:circle;"><li><strong>Spirit of Sport:</strong> Positive attitude, love of the sport, celebrating others, inclusive environment.</li><li><strong>Respect:</strong> Respect for opponents, teammates, officials, coaches, and spectators.</li><li><strong>Integrity:</strong> Fair play, honesty, accepting mistakes.</li><li><strong>Leadership:</strong> Motivating others, setting a good example, supporting teammates.<br></li></ul></ul></div>

This can cause severe congestion and therefore become a safety issue when vehicles cannot get in or out of the car parks and other surrounding areas. Please see the <a href="https://www.ssv.vic.edu.au/state/Documents/MSAC%20Access%20Parking%20Information%20Car%20Bus.pdf" target="_blank">MSAC Access Parking & Information - Car & Bus </a>outlining where the buses may drop off and park, as well as a safe pathway for students to walk to the entrances.
