Australian Football is played at both Primary and Secondary school levels in the School Sport Victoria interschool program.

Premier League Competition is also running within the Secondary School Program. This competition was introduced in 2011 for Senior Boys & 2020 for Senior Girls by School Sport Victoria to cater for the sports specialist schools that have high performing sporting teams.

Equipment for Primary Australian Football
AFL Victoria is providing the following equipment to the SSV community including:
*SSV Districts receive 1 goal post set
*SSV Divisions receive 4 kits
*SSV Regions receive 4 kits
*SSV State receives 4 kits
The equipment will be distributed in the coming weeks with the goal post set (including a bag) and the kits consisting of the 2 * size 3 footballs, 1 goal post set (including bag), and cones.

Lesson Plans for Primary Australian Football
In this short four-week unit, the students will work on developing their fundamental football motor skills necessary to play Australian Football.
The lessons focus on learning through play and students are encouraged to have fun whilst developing key skills in football as well as developing an understanding of the
rules.
