If your child is too old or young to register this year, we recommend you speak with your club coach to discuss possible representative pathways in your sport or programs your child could be involved in to further advance their skills.

For both Track and Field and Cross Country, selection for the Victorian team is through Athletics Victoria.

For Track and Field, Athletics Victoria enters a team at the Australian All Schools Track & Field Championships. Selection for this team is via Athletics Victoria's Victorian All School Track & Field Championships.

Some schools are not aware of the work of SSV and the Team Vic opportunities that are available. You can stay in the know by signing up to the SSV eNews and connecting to SSV's social media channels to receive information about Team Vic opportunities, registrations, trials and events and sharing the information with your school PE teacher or Principal.

You can also ask the school to contact the SSV National Programs team to find out more information about SSV, the National (Team Vic) Program or learn more about the benefits of becoming an SSV member school.

Many children missed out on various activities since 2020 due to COVID-19. Whilst this is disappointing, we recommend you look forward to sporting opportunities that are available in the future. Your school PE teacher and local sporting organisations can be a good starting point.

School Sport Australia Championships will only be cancelled in exceptional circumstances. Wherever possible, SSV will continue to run the program and will develop options to be communicated with those who are registering or have been selected for a Team Vic team.

If, after understanding the options, you would still like to withdraw your child, SSV will organise a refund.

Your child should wear appropriate activewear and footwear for an activity-based trial. They should also bring water and other personal items necessary for them to perform at their best.

Please note: No State Team Uniform is to be worn.

At Division, Region and Conference trials, your child will be told before they leave the venue if they will progress to the next level of trials.

Team officials will announce those selected at the State Trial to represent Team Vic. The announcement will be made via the SSV website.

The trials are the opportunity for your child to show the selectors what they can do. If your child is unable to attend the trial, there are some circumstances where your school may apply for an invitation to the next level of trials. For more information, refer to The Team Vic invitation policy and complete the application form. Please note: being away on a family holiday is not grounds for a school to apply for an invitation.

If a trial must be postponed for any reason, School Sport Victoria will contact you directly via email and the trial will be rescheduled or modified wherever possible to give students another opportunity to demonstrate their skills.

Ensure you have answered all the mandatory questions. If they have not been answered, a red box with a comment will appear. If you are still having problems, please contact the SSV National Programs team.

A consent form is no longer required for the first level of trials. This will only be required if your child is selected to represent Victoria in a Team Vic team.

Please visit the SSV website and search for your school. You can find the school with the SSV Region and SSV Division information

Yes. There may be instances where you don't. For example, when you register multiple children or a child for multiple trials. This issue has been logged with our vendor for resolution. The other reason you may not receive an email is if an incorrect email address has been used during the start of the registration process.

This may be because your browser is remembering the last time you used this registration platform.

The easiest and fastest way to resolve this issue is to open up an "incognito or private browsing" window in your internet browser and copy and paste the link there. This will remove any history you have with the browser.

Alternatively, you can try the following:

1.     Use Google Chrome as your browser;

2.     Register using a different device;

3.     Restart your device;

4.     Clear the cache and cookies (you can easily search for step by step instructions online)

5.      In Cognito Browsing

If you are having trouble registering for one of our Team Vic teams, and the error you are seeing is "this event has now closed" it is because your browser is remembering the last time you used this registration platform.

The easiest and fastest way to get around this issue is to do the following:

On a Windows machine right-click on the Chrome icon and select "In Cognito Browsing" or right-click on the Internet Explorer icon and select "In Private Browsing" (See the example image below)

And copy the registration link into the address bar.

This will remove any history you have with the browser.

This is likely because your child does not meet the age eligibility requirements for the Team Vic team. These are set by School Sport Australia. Please check the Trial Information and Selection Guidelines document for the relevant sport on the Team Vic webpage. If you believe your child should be able to register and are still having trouble, please contact the SSV National Programs team.

Where there are more than 3 students from one school nominating to trial for certain Team Vic teams, Principals will be asked to nominate up to 3 students to attend the trials.

  • Basketball 12 Years & Under Girls
  • Basketball 12 Years & Under Boys

The Principal Endorsement Form has been re-named as the Student Endorsement Form. You will receive a copy to take to your child’s school for the Principal’s signature once your child has been selected for a Team Vic team.

For all trial dates at the different levels, please refer to the relevant Team Vic Sport page and the Trial Information and Selection Guideline document.

You can find the trial registration link along with the closing date on the individual Team Vic sport pages. Alternatively, refer to the Sport & Registration Date page https://www.ssv.vic.edu.au/team-vic/Pages/2024TeamVicKeyDates.aspx

You will receive an email confirming trial information approximately 1 week prior to the date of the trial.

SSV need to be strict on all timelines within Team Vic Program - to ensure a smooth, enjoyable, equitable and fair trial process for all students and their families. We suggest regularly checking the Team Vic Sport and Registration Dates to ensure that you are aware of the relevant registration dates for each team.
