Financial Assistance

SSV makes every effort to keep participation costs to a minimum. Financial assistance is available to meet the costs of participation in the following ways:

The Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) has been helping athletes, sporting clubs and organisations fundraise for more than 35 years.

The ASF believes in a future where everyone can play sport and understands that financial challenges can often be a barrier to participate. As School Sport Victoria's fundraising partner, the ASF can help you fundraise to represent Team Vic.

Benefits of the ASF fundraising platform include:

Signing up with the ASF only takes 5 minutes and there is a simple step-by-step guide for Team Vic athletes here, along with some other useful resources to help you with your fundraising.

For more information on this fundraising opportunity, please contact the ASF team at info@sportsfoundation.org.au or 02 5112 0990.

The Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund

Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund (SESF)

The SESF is a registered charity. It supports primary and secondary school students aged 10 to 18 years old, whose financial circumstances would preclude them from otherwise participating at the representative level for their state or Australia. The charity started in 2012 and has a Deductible Gift Recipient status.

Applicants must:

  • be enrolled at an Australian school;
  • have sporting potential consistent with competing at a state representative level;
  • be aged 10 to 18 years old;
  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia (within the meaning of the Australian Citizenship Act 2007 (Cth); and
  • have financial circumstances that would preclude them from otherwise participating at the representative level.

For more information please email admin@sesf.org.au.

School support

Schools often support their students by offering financial support or helping students fundraise within the school community. SSV will notify your Principal, via email, of your selection to the Team Vic team. You can refer to this email to assist with conversations at your school.

State Government support

The Victorian State Government provides support to students to get involved in organised sport and active recreation activities through established programs. Active programs are listed below:
