Have you applied for an Academic and Sporting Achievement Medal?

School Sport Victoria (SSV) is excited to present the SSV Academic and Sporting Achievement medal. This medal is available to Full and Associate member schools of SSV annually for the end of year presentation. The medal recognises the most outstanding student in your school who has achieved a high level academically, combined with a strong sporting contribution to the school. One medal is available per school (regardless of the number of campuses).

Despite the limitations to sport participation this year, we are aware that some extraordinary achievements have been taking place in our schools by students in both sport and academic achievement.

Strong sporting contribution may include:

Displaying outstanding sporting leadership qualities within the school environment and beyond
Participating in SSV region and state finals and or represented Team Vic and State Sporting Association teams.
A student who participates across a range of sports at a grassroots level and displays outstanding teamwork, encouragement to fellow students, commitment to the school and generally lifts the morale of the school as a result
A student who has made a significant contribution to officiating, e.g., coaching, managing or umpiring school teams

High academic achievement may include:

A student who excels to a high level across a range of subject areas
A student who has shown consistent improvement and application to their studies

Schools have the ability to vary the suggested criteria to suit their local need and may also wish to nominate a year level for this award to avoid the same student winning the medal on multiple occasions.

A bulk mailout of medals will be sent in late October and as required thereafter. The medals will be posted to Principals. There is no cost for the medal or postage.  Please contact the SSV office on (03) 9084 9001 if you have not received your medal in this time frame.

The SSV Sporting and Academic Achievement Medal will be available to all full and associate members schools as per normal.
