12 Years and Netball Championships
Congratulations to the Team Vic 12 Years & Under Netball teams who put their best foot forward at the recent School Sport Australia Championships at the State Netball and Hockey Centre.
The Boys team were undefeated over the week, winning the Gold medal and inaugural team Championship convincingly, whilst the Girls team finished off strongly to claim 3rd place and continue their streak of placing highly in this event. We look forward to hosting the 12 Years & Under Championship again in 2025, as well as seeing the boys from the 2023 and 2024 team given the opportunity to play in the newly introduced 15 Years & Under Boys Championship in 2025.
Team Vic Bowl Them Away
Congratulations to the Team Vic 18 Years & Under Bowls team, who came away from the event in Geelong with the inaugural School Sport Australia and Bowls Australia National Championship!
The team overcame a slow start on Day 1 but were able to roll back into contention by Day 3, with it all to play for. Finishing tied with New South Wales on 50 points apiece, the result was determined on a shots countback.
The Victorian team also collected Gold in the Pairs, Bronze in the Triples, as well as Gold and Bronze in the Fours.
We thank the City of Geelong Bowls Club for their hospitality over the week, as well as Bowls Australia for their support, including the provision of a livestream for the Championship, which can be watched back on replay.
