Partnerships Announcement
16/06/2025

School Sport Victoria is pleased to announce new partnerships with Bowls Victoria, Ten Pin Bowling Australia, and Volleyball Victoria. These partnerships are important in supporting the range of school sport opportunities provided across these sports whilst consolidating the importance of school sport for SSV's partners.

Tony Sherwill, Chief Executive Officer at Bowls Victoria, said: “Bowls Victoria gladly renews our relationship with School Sport Victoria and look forward to building on the last three years of growth in school-aged participation. Bowls Victoria has witnessed an increase in rates of participation at both school and open junior events. We have a close connection with Team Vic and welcome the successes our juniors are experiencing on and off the green through these opportunities.

Kurt Wilson, Chief Executive Officer at Tenpin Bowling Australia, said: "We are excited to partner with School Sport Victoria, this partnership marks a significant step in expanding the reach of Tenpin Bowling in the school community and supports our vision to inspire the next generation of bowlers as we work together to cultivate a supportive environment for young athletes. This collaboration will enhance opportunities for students to engage in Tenpin Bowling, fostering a love for sport within schools across Victoria. Our aim is to create inclusive and enjoyable experiences that promote physical activity and teamwork among students."

Cori Wilder, Chief Executive Officer at Volleyball Victoria, said: “Volleyball Victoria is pleased to formalise a new partnership with School Sport Victoria, acknowledging the vital and long-standing role schools have played in not only introducing volleyball to students across the state but also in embracing the significant growth in its participation. We’ve witnessed firsthand the remarkable surge in volleyball’s presence within the school system, particularly since COVID-19, with the sport now ranked as the fourth most participated secondary schools sport in Victoria per SSV 2024’s data.  This growth has been reflected in Volleyball Victoria’s own school events which have welcomed nearly 6,500 youth participants across a range of programs and events across 2024. Through this partnership, we look forward to strengthening our collaboration with schools across Victoria, expanding access to high-quality volleyball experiences for both students and teachers as well as offering the support necessary for schools to deliver the sport effectively and realise the many benefits that volleyball brings to all involved.”
